Family Programs
The Education Department offers programs designed to encourage children and families to explore, understand, and enjoy the Museums collection and exhibitions. Programs provide a variety of approach to looking at, talking about and interpreting art that creates rich learning environments for audiences of all ages to experience and enjoy art together.
Family Learning Lab
Free with Admission
Visitors of all ages are invited to extend their experience at MAM by visiting our drop-in, hands-on activity area on the third floor to explore the craft of quilt making. Using art materials provided, Museum visitors create a square to add to our community quilt. Families can also relax and enjoy our reading nook. Open during Museum hours.
Family Guides
Explore the Museum’s galleries together. MAM’s Family Guides encourage close looking and discovery through activities including scavenger hunts, compare-and-contrast activities, and projects to do at home that help engage young viewers with art. Family Guides are located throughout the galleries; please ask the Museum receptionist or security guards for assistance.

During the first hour, partygoers create an arts and crafts project led by one of our talented and professional art teachers. During the second hour, refreshments, provided by parents, are served. Projects can be designed based on your individual child’s interests. Please don’t dress to impress – come with smocks!
Price: $20/child
