The Montclair Art Museum is committed to protecting the privacy of our members, employees, supporters, volunteers, students, and other stakeholders. The Montclair Art Museum values the trust and support of our supporters and recognizes that maintaining this requires that we be accountable and transparent in how we treat the information you have chosen to share with us.

In our quest to inspire creativity and awaken a deeper understanding of America’s unique artistic and cultural diversity and continue to build a strong constituency, we frequently gather and use personal information. The Montclair Art Museum complies with and endeavors to exceed the legal requirements of personal information protection. Personal information about our supporters is always held in the strictest of confidence and any use of this information is subject to consent.

Where an individual uses his or her home contact information as business contact information as well, we consider that the contact information provided is business contact information.

The privacy of our supporter’s personal information is never compromised. Safeguards are in place to ensure that all personal information is kept confidential and secure. Access is given only to employees who must use the personal information for the reason for which it was obtained. Measures are in place to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the information we have.

We collect, use, and disclose personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate.

Website and Electronic Commerce

Our website is operated by the Montclair Art Museum for the benefit of our members and those interested in supporting our organization. It is free for use by individual web users.

All personal information, such as e-mail addresses and financial information, collected on the Montclair Art Museum’s website is knowingly and specifically supplied to us by the website user.  

Regularly, our members are given opportunities to choose how often and in what way they wish to hear from us. At any time, our supporters are able to opt out of receiving communication material.

For website users under 18, please be sure to obtain your parent’s or guardian’s permission before you send any information about yourself (your name, address, e-mail address, etc.) to us or anyone else over the Internet. We encourage parents to get involved with their children’s online usage and to be aware of the activities in which they are participating.

Secure Shopping Policy
You can shop online at montclairartmuseum.org with confidence. The Montclair Art Museum never stores your sensitive credit card information, so you can be assured you are shopping securely.

We have partnered with Authorize.Net, a leading payment gateway since 1996, to offer safe and secure credit card transactions for our customers and generous supporters. The Authorize.Net Payment Gateway manages the complex routing of sensitive customer and donor information through the credit card processing networks (see an online payments diagram).

The company adheres to strict industry standards for payment processing, including:

  • 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology for secure  Internet Protocol (IP) transactions.
  • Industry leading encryption hardware and software methods and  security protocols to protect customer information.
  • Compliance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard.
